Senior Marine Liability Underwriter - QBE
Sophie is a Marine Liability Underwriter who joined QBE in September 2019. Prior to this, Sophie spent 18 months at RSA, underwriting Ports and Terminals and Marine Liabilities, and over four years at Carina. Sophie joined the Marine & Energy U35s Committee in January 2021.

Katie is a Client Executive at Marsh having joined in 2023 from Ed Broking LLP. She specialises in North American Energy & Power and has a range of account management experience across the International Energy sector. Associate Lawyer - Kennedys
Ingrid qualified into the Kennedys’ Marine Team in September 2020. She advises on a variety of matters including hull & machinery, cargo, P&I, salvage/GA and charterparty issues, and has experience in coverage, defence and recovery disputes. Ingrid joined the Marine & Energy U35s Committee in January 2023.

ANDREW MACKENZIE
Marine Claims Adjuster – Atrium
Andrew Mackenzie joined Atrium Underwriters Ltd as a Marine Claims Adjuster in June 2018 and handles a variety of classes of business including Marine, Marine Cargo and Energy. Andrew began his career in 2012 on the Lloyd's of London Claims Graduate Scheme before joining as a Marine Claims Advocate at Marsh Ltd. Andrew has an MA in History from the University of Durham, is ACII qualified and is an Associate Member of the Association of Average Adjusters. He joined the Marine & Energy U35s committee in January 2021.

UK Head of Marine Claims - AIG
Will heads up the UK Marine claims team at AIG, having started the role in 2022. Previously he worked at Axa XL in the Marine team, and at Starr Companies as an Aviation claims adjuster. He has experience dealing with a variety of aspects of Marine, namely Hull, Cargo, Ports and Terminals and Liability. Will is ACII qualified and an Associate Member of the Association of Average Adjusters.

Class Underwriter: Upstream Energy - Chaucer Group
Alex is currently an Upstream Energy underwriter at Chaucer having joined the team in 2013. He has over 11 years of market experience, having started his career at Starr Companies in February 2012.

ALEX RILEY
Major Loss Energy Claims Adjuster - AIG
Alex joined AIG in 2023 and works as a Major Loss Energy Claims Adjuster. Alex deals with claims across a broad spectrum within the Energy sector encompassing, upstream, downstream, mining, refining, power, and renewable sectors. Alex is ACII qualified and holds a chartered title. Prior to his role at AIG, Alex worked as an Energy & Power Claims Advocate at Marsh where he represented clients, strategically advising them throughout the claims process. Alex began his insurance career at Zurich, joining the Graduate Management Programme, going on to work as an Energy Claims Adjuster.

Cargo Underwriter - Chubb
Louis is an Underwriter in the Marine Cargo team at Chubb having joined in 2022. Prior to this he worked at Hiscox within the Marine and Energy division initially as an Underwriting assistant and then as a Cargo Underwriter. Louis joined the Marine & Energy U35s committee in January 2023.  Please feel free to contact him with any Cargo queries.

Senior Marine & Energy Liability Claims Adjuster - MS Amlin
Efi is a Senior Claims Adjuster at MS Amlin, having joined from Chubb in 2022. She has a Master in Maritime Insurance and Law and a broad range of experience across Marine classes including Cargo, Specie and Fine Art, Hull, and Liability. Marine Hull Underwriter - Apollo Syndicate
Ciara is a Hull Underwriter at Apollo Syndicate. Having worked at MS Amlin in Dubai for 6 years across a range of Marine classes including Hull, Yacht, FP P&I and Specie, Ciara moved across to MS Amlin London in 2021. She has been working at Apollo since August 2022. Ciara joined the Marine U35s Committee in 2023; please feel free to contact her with any Hull queries.

Joe is a Marine Broker/Technician at Lilley Plummer Risks, specialising in Hull & Machinery, War, and Kidnap & Ransom. He also handles a wide range of interests which include Marine Liability, Cargo, and Mortgagee Interest Insurance/ Mortgagee Additional Perils Insurance. Fine Art and Specie Underwriter – Liberty Specialty Markets
Emma joined the LSM graduate programme and the Specie team in 2016 and has been trained to underwrite Fine Art, General Specie, Cash In Transit, Jewellers Block and Terrorism products to clients globally. Emma has completed her ACII and is currently studying towards her FCII. Emma coordinates the LSM Art Award, that supports artists transition from art school to the commercial art world, and chairs the LSM Gender Matters Committee. Emma joined the Marine & Energy U35s committee in January 2024.
CRAIG BIRD
Legal Director - Clyde & Co LLP
Craig joined Clyde & Co in 2015 and is an experienced marine lawyer advising London market and international marine insurers/reinsurers on all matters arising out of the sale, insurance and carriage of goods, by sea, air, road and rail. Craig also regularly advises on other marine classes such as warehousing, liability, yachts and specie.
Craig is frequently asked by leading insurers in London, Europe and ASIA to provide marine insurance coverage advice in respect of high value losses. Having completed two London market secondments in 2016 and 2017 at Zurich and Brit, Craig has broad experience of the insurance market and first-hand experience of adjusting marine, fine art and specie claims. Â
Craig joined the Marine & Energy U35s Committee in January 2020.
