Please join an educational talk by Iain Butterworth, Director at Butterworth Marine, to be held in the Lloyd’s Library. Iain will discuss Marine Fuels and Bunker claims, covering topics such as Distillate vs. Residual fuels, fuel sampling, BIMCO Bunker Terms and the bunker supply chain.

 

Iain Butterworth is a distinguished shipping lawyer and former chief engineer with over 20 years of legal practice and extensive maritime experience. Having served in the merchant navy aboard container ships, oil tankers, and Ro/Ro passenger vessels, he transitioned to law while maintaining a strong technical foundation. For the past decade, Iain has successfully managed Butterworth Marine, a marine consultancy, alongside his legal career. His expertise spans a broad range of technical marine casualty matters, frequently advising vessel owners, shipyards, port authorities, P&I clubs, insurers, bunker suppliers, traders, and law firms.
